Picked an area…finally!

So as the title suggests, I have finally picked an area of mental health to focus on for my creative project! I picked schizophrenia.

I think it’s one of the facets of mental health that most people are afraid to face and admit that they have. In really bad cases of schizo, you see and interact with the people that are not there. To people, nothing shouts crazy than creating a person that does not exist and having full on conversations and relationships with them, so they would rather sit in silence and pretend like nothing is wrong.

Sad thing is the more you ignore it, the harder it is to tell the difference between reality and what you have created in your mind. People seem to wait till it’s in it’s worst stage before they are forced to get help. People who are schizo also deal with other areas of mental health too. It’s such a massive thing.

Watching shows like Perception help me see how intense it can really be. The lead character is such a brilliant man but sometimes he would rather live in his created world than exist in the real world. Have you guys ever seen the show? I think it’s pretty cool.  It also gave me some ideas for how to tell my story. I’m actually loving the way my story is unraveling already. I just hope I can make it look as beautiful as it looks in my head. 🙂

In the meantime, do really know what is real? Check out the video below
